HA HA
My initial response to this article was wow! It really makes post reading, TV shows with laugh tracks seem odd. It really exemplifies how insecure we are as a culture. Personally, I find it odd when watching a stand up comedy special on either Comedy Central or HBO. I think it is odd when sitting with a group of people watching a stand up comic and just I laugh and no one else does. I think, am I immature to think that's funny or did everyone else just not get it. And then sometimes when everyone else laughs at something and that one person doesn't find it funny but still musters up an unnatural chuckle or two to fit in. I laugh when I find something funny. Some people laugh when they think they should instead of when they naturally feel they should.

TOpic
I think the topic I am going to chose is Life After the NFL. (Money wise and health wise) My interest in this topic came when I saw a documentary of a former NFL lineman that had since retired from the league. When he left the league he was 320lbs. Two years later he was 420lbs and with weight like that high blood pressure, stroke, heart attack etc. can occur. They have to workout harder out of the league than when they were in it... A professional football player in the most physically demanding sport out there whom already has a workout routine that rivals none other who then has to workout even harder than when he was in the league? And he is over 400lbs? Sounds impossible. I really think that with the approaching deadline between the players association and the owners (who want to increase the regular season to 18 games) something most definitely has to change. With this being a current issue in the news and me being super passionate about it... sounds like a fit.

Attached to Technology and Paying a Price
My thoughts, feelings, commentary on this article is... sound familiar? I think this article hits right on the head of what is happening to this world today. We, my generation, has turned in to technology junkies. I personally can attest to various cause and effect theories presented in this article. I actually just burned some meatballs in sauce to my roommate's pan because I was posting this blog for my required English class posting. I personally am taking steps to delete my Facebook. I have thought about what I use it for and apart from finding a number or a way to contact someone in a class I am in I dont use it for anything other then to fill a void or an unconstructed moment of the day when I flip over to the Facebook icon on my iphone. Do I really need to check out that girl who I went to highschool with's recently uploaded pictures of a night she can only attest occurred based on pictures? mmhm... In the process of simplifying.
My first blog
Howdy y'all. I guess I have a blog now. I never thought I'd be blogging about anything but here I am. I am currently a junior at IUP, majoring in Sports Administration slated to graduate in 2012. I work at the Lancaster Marriott and Convention Center in downtown Lancaster as a Valet. Its awesome money. Cash money. And I get to drive some pretty cool cars.
